The Dog Home Mrs Ena Hamilton lived at the end of Hartley Street near Billy Goat Hill with her husband Bob who was a policeman. She was a dog lover. According to Alan Wauchope, who was the editor of The Centralian Advocate, her husband Bob kept "two horrible hounds" in an old army signals van in their back yard. Ena doctored his nose one day when the two dogs had taken a piece out of it.
